December 11 - 13http://store.steampowered.com/app/240/For those of you who have been hesitant to pick up Counter Strike Source because of cost, that's not going to be much of an issue if you pick it up this weekend. On most Tuesdays we play this on the Cartel CSS server - picking it up would give you the option to join us.  I won't lie to you - it's not a game to go pubbing in unless you know the people hosting the server. The game is great, even if most of the players are scumbags. That's why we have our own server. We can kick a$$hats and griefers and just password-lock it when we don't want to deal with pubbers. It's instant infantry gratification and that's why we like it. You don't need a ton of players to enjoy it: 4 is enough - 8 is a blast. If you've got a spare $5 at least think about it.

Counter Strike Source is only $5 again: Saturday through Sunday (Jan 2 - 3). http://store.steampowered.com/app/240/We play this every Tuesday, so you wouldn't have to go pubbing to give it a try.

A major update to Counter Strike Source has been released. And now it's only $6.80 in Steam.  Our next organized CSS event is "Terrorist Tuesday", scheduled to take place July 6th! It should be a lot of fun. I've already updated our CSS server to the latest release - it was a big update! If any of you could make it that would be sweet! Counter Strike Source

OK loaded CSS added your server to my favorites list (at this time it's showing D_Dust2) I have a 78,s Ping (good/bad for CSS?) no one is on line 0/12 and when I say connect the LOADING box shows up already with 2 boxes filled and then goes away - back to my favorites menu.... ? !
Am I dong something wrong?
I have your IP correct (must have a s I see the CGC Chicago Beer - Boobs and Head(shot) funny how it dropped the (shot) and all you see is....
Anyway 208.100.45.48:27015 in the favorites IP..... still no connection... help.

The update is free. The whole game can be purchased for $6.80 for anybody who doesn't already have it.
I'm having problems with our server since I applied the update. We have a 3rd part admin tool installed called Mani Admin and I suspect it is not working with the new update - so I will likely have to uninstall Mani Admin.
Our next big CSS night is a week and a half away and I expect to have it working by then. You might have better luck testing it out on another server just to make sure you can connect. I'll keep you posted on my progress. I do apologize - this is the 1st time I've had trouble with our CSS server.

Larva - no problems - better to find out now than on the big game night that no one can connect - no apologies needed.
I did and was able to connect to other servers bot empty and populated so it's me connecting to you that's the issue.
Side question - how or where do I change my in game name?

I remember it being tricky. But I think it's in there... otherwise maybe it drew your name from Steam... I don't remember, I think I did it somehow.

Yah I've been all over it top down and sideways - I've tried the drop down menu code for name change - tried looking all over the options menu....
If I recall it is a bear to find.... I don't think it's associated with Steam but then again after the download today my name after install IS a name I use for gaming.....
Going to go dig around in Steam again - may have missed it there.

I had to reinstall the CSS server. The update was bigger than I realized - Counter Strike Source is now running on the OrangeBox engine. I restored most of our server settings. Our server greeting text is black - I need to make it yellow again so guests can see the text.
So feel free to hop on and give it a try. Apparently some games have already been played on it since I updated it.
Please do set aside next Tuesday night, July 6th, for Terrorist Tuesday!

Just a friendly reminder that tonight is Terrorist Tuesday! I'll be on around 10 PM Eastern time. Make sure you have CSS updated to the latest version! The last update was a big one - it's now on the OrangeBox engine, same as Team Fortress 2! I'll be on around 10 PM Eastern time.

Well, we had enough of the pubbers so we password-locked the CSS server:. The password is...
boom!!!
Also, CSS released two separate updates today. If you connect to Steam about 10 - 15 minutes before you want to play you should be ready to go.

Thanks for stopping by Bubba! It was a great turn-out - I'm glad I locked the server because we didn't have many slots left for pubbers. We'll be doing that again the 1st Tuesday of every month. We might squeeze in another game here or there.
